A MAN'S dedication to his work keeps on getting him in trouble with the law, his defence lawyer told the Gladstone Magistrates Court yesterday.
Defence lawyer Dave Murray made the argument while representing Otto Ronald McComber, who was caught driving to work without a licence on November 13, 2011.
His licence had been disqualified by the court on February 19, 2010, for a period of 27 months.
He was also serving a suspended sentence at the time.
Mr Murray said McComber, who has been caught driving to work while disqualified before, was putting his dedication toward his employer before his responsibility to the court.
"He was honouring work rather than honouring the order of the court," he said.
"He has since realised he has to put the community before his work."
McComber was sentenced to eight months imprisonment in total with immediate parole. His licence was also disqualified for a further two years.
