If you're a junior golfer now is your chance to get into the swing of things.

If you feel you have a mean swing - despite your age then show it off.

Parents if you have noticed that your little boy or girl has the makings of a real pro then get them involved in this exciting event.

The Golf Central Queensland 2012 Lindleys Panel Works Junior Pennants between Curtis and Keppel zones will kick off on February 17 at Capricorn Country Club in Rockhampton.

Nominations are now being called for the pennants.

Gladstone Junior Golf coordinator Stephen Lewis said nominations were now being called for the pennants, which pits the top seven boys and five girls from each of the two zones against each other in a handicap match play event. "This has been a hotly contested event since it was begun many years ago and Curtis was fortunate enough to wrest the title away from Keppel last year," Lewis said.

Lewis said Gladstone had some great talent amongst its junior golfers.

"We have some incredible talent around at the moment in the Curtis zone so hopefully we can retain the shield again in 2012," he said.

Players from Boyne Island, Calliope, Gladstone, Miriam Vale and Biloela clubs are eligible to nominate for the Curtis zone.

With selection based on a criteria that included current AGU/WGU handicap, on and off course behaviour, sportsmanship and a willingness to participate in both rounds.

"Players should nominate through their junior coordinator before February 10 so the selectors can decide upon the team by the close of nominations on Monday, February 13," Lewis said. For information email gladstonejuniorgolf@hotmail.com.
