Chris Rodwell with his mother Mary, also known as Australia’s “Alien Lady”.
“I BELIEVE these advanced intelligences have been visiting this planet since the dawn of time, and I believe they’re here to assist evolution to another level.”
That’s what Agnes Water resident Mary Rodwell tells us in an extraordinary documentary that will air on SBS on Tuesday night.
My Mum Talks to Aliens is an extraterrestrial experience like no other, focusing on the life and research of Mary, affectionately known as Australia’s “Alien Lady”, who is one of the world’s most sought after and respected experts on all things to do with the UFO phenomena.
In 1997 Mary founded ACERN (Australian Close Encounter Resource Network) which has now grown to be the largest of its kind specialising in helping alien abduction victim’s deal with their traumas.
“For those with encounter experiences, my work offers them validation and an understanding in their own personal journey,” Mary said.
Director Dan Brown said the basis of the documentary was about relationships and beliefs with an alien backdrop.
“I knew Mary’s son Chris and knew he was a non-believer, so I did the documentary to see how his views and his relationship with his mum changed,” Dan said.
“We all learnt through this experience just how powerful belief systems are and how passionate Mary is about her work,” he said.
Mary said her son Chris was a bit of a sceptic.
“I have never shoved my beliefs down my children’s throats and Chris never really showed much of an interest in my work and was not informed enough,” she said.
“It took me 16 years to believe it and by doing this TV show together, it has given Chris pause for thought and he now has a better understanding of what I do.”
In the documentary Mary introduces her son to her clients and contacts in an attempt to convince and educate her son, and the world, about aliens.
Mary has travelled the world talking to whistleblowers and pilots and many other credible people as well as lecturing at universities worldwide.
Mary’s home town of Agnes Water has had its fair share of sightings over the years and some people believe it is a hot spot for alien activity.
“Agnes Water sits on an energy line and it is a hotspot for sure,” Mary said.
“Just last year there were a number of sightings in Agnes Water.”
Mary said alien encounter experiences often happen to whole families and seems to follow the genetic line.
The show airs on Tuesday at 8.30pm on SBS.
