BUDDING tradesmen and women are urged to attend the Gladstone Area Group Apprentices Ltd (GAGAL) Open Day today.

The event will run from 9am to 1pm at its premises.

GAGAL CEO Kerry Whitaker said it was a great chance for people to find out information.

“They will have the opportunity of talking to our field officers, workshop supervisors, trainers and program co-ordinators,” Ms Whitaker said.

GAGAL has a range of workshops catering for trades including boiler making, fitting and turning, diesel fitting, carpentry, cabinet making, electrical, painting and decorating, working at heights and confined space training as well as spray painting and industrial blasting.

Ms Whitaker said the workshops took on commercial and overflow work from the industry.

“There is no better training for apprentices than on live work that needs to be completed to a quality standard and in a commercial time frame,” she said.
