THE massive LNG industry has been given the green light by Federal Environment Minister Tony Burke.
Speaking at a news conference in Canberra only minutes ago, Mr Burke gave approval to the EIS statements lodged by GLNG and QCLNG - however he said that approval came with more than 300 conditions.
Mr Burke said the decision was reached after considering economic factors as well as environmental factors and the protection of the Great Artesian Basin, agricultural land, waterways and The Great Barrier Reef.
