DIABETES, heart disease and cancer affect many in some way.

Renowned speaker Dr Anthony Espinet will be presenting a lecture this Saturday on topics relating to food and its connection with disease.

The topics he will be discussing include lifestyle secrets of the healthiest people in the world, nutrition for super health and how to prevent and fight cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity.

Dr Espinet is an international health educator and lifestyle consultant and conducts seminars on natural and herbal remedies, nutrition and healthy eating, weight management, stop smoking programs and stress management. Dr Espinet is also an Assistant Professor at Bond University, a senior lecturer at Griffith University and has many other titles to his name.

Owner of Gladstone Fruit Shop Helen Whittaker said she had noticed a change with people buying more fresh fruit and vegetables over processed and frozen food.

“I am an advocate for pushing that fresh is better,” she said.

What you eat affects you more than you think and with the high rates of cancer and disease in this generation many people are looking for alternatives and a return to natural, fresh food.

Poor lifestyle including inactivity, the consumption of red meat, fast food diets and processed food brings about many of the killer diseases this generation suffers from.

The free health presentation will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on the corner of Tudman and Chapman Streets, Gladstone from 9.30am to 4pm on Saturday.

A free vegetarian lunch will be supplied and a question-and-answer session will be held.

For more information call Dennis on 4974 1267 or Ruth on 4975 7511.
