THE Gladstone Gymnastic Club held its Term Event last weekend.
Seen as an integral part of the club’s calendar, the Term Event was an opportunity for all gymnasts to showcase their development and progress over the past 10 weeks.
Almost 200 gymnasts performed over the sessions to an appreciative audience packing the stands.
This was also an opportunity for gymnasts in levels 1-3 to present their routines and in some instances qualify to the next level. Gymnasts who successfully passed their level were:
Level 1: Trinity Cooper, Sailor Felsch, Caitlyn Goggi, Jemma Holzberger, Kirsty Lester and Tatiana Manitzky
Level 2: Alanna Darnell, Larah Fedalta, Ebony Goggi, Jade Izzeard, Emily Ney, Alyssa Rabnott, Bronte Shearer, Maddison Sherriff and Madelyn Smith
Level 3: Madison Grunberg and Jane O’Brien
The senior artistic gymnasts performed their routines in a competition environment to assist in their preparation for next weekend.
Seventeen gymnasts from Gladstone Gymnastic Club qualified to compete at the Queensland State Championships being held this weekend. Also last weekend it was the relaunch of the acrobatic discipline to the Gladstone Gymnastics Club.
Gladstone Gymnastic acrobats did the club proud in the levels they contended, taking out first overall in the level 3 trio (Kate McAuley, Jessica Hurst and Madeline Johnson) and in the level 4 pair (Ella Lawrie and Aime Parker). Also in the level 4 pairs, Jessica Lawrie and Jasmyn Dew took out third overall. Four clubs competed in the event with 25 groups performing from Level 1 pairs to Level 5 Trios.
