RECENTLY having graduated from Toolooa State High School, Tiffany Drinkwater and Jessie Macdonald are going on a journey together to Peru to help change the lives of people in need.
The two young friends will travel overseas in November and will work in villages around Cusco with street children living below the poverty line.
Miss Macdonald and Miss Drinkwater are excited to go and learn about another culture.
“We will be doing two main projects; they are five weeks each and we will be in and out of villages working with street kids. We will have personal projects to fulfil,” Miss Drinkwater said.
The trip will be completely funded by the two girls and any money they can raise in the time leading up to the event. They are going with a non-profit organisation and will be out and about in the community trying to get sponsors onboard.
“The trip is a fair amount; it is $3000 for five weeks and $4500 for 10 weeks,” Miss Macdonald said.
If you would like to sponsor the girls for this important cause you can contact Miss Macdonald at jessie.macdonald92@hotmail.com.
“This trip will be a life-changing experience for us. These people are below the line of poverty and we hope to change lives and leave on a good note so they remember us,” Miss Macdonald said.
