Boats in the Gladstone Harbour yesterday morning seemed unaffected by the threatened tsunami.

RECENT tsunami warnings keep water and flood damage top of mind on Queensland’s coast, while unpredictable storms and floods again threaten the interior.
THE weekend got off to a glorious start with warm weather and clear skies but was dampered by a tsunami warning yesterday morning.
Swimmers in south-east and central Queensland were urged to stay out of the water because of possible rapid seas, strong ocean currents and unusual water conditions.
Boat owners were warned to secure their vessels but no significant effects were expected to hit beaches.
Paul Pacaud from the Tannum Sands Surf Club, said all beaches in the threatened zones from Yeppoon down the south-east coast were closed, including Tannum Sands where full patrols of the beach were being conducted.
Emergency Management Queensland acting chief officer Bruce Grady said it was a matter of scope rather than threat.
“We need to ensure people understand that they need to be wary of conditions along the coast and accordingly the marine environment.
The tsunami came from an earthquake off the coast of Chile.
