QUEENSLAND Premier Anna Bligh may be keen to fluoridate the state's water supply, but not all supporters of the Australian Labor Party are flashing toothy grins over it.
One of the Gladstone region's branches of the party (there are two) is considering submitting a motion condemning fluoridation at Sunday's ALP conference in Rockhampton.
If it does so it will be on the grounds that the fluoridation of the water supply was uneconomical because most of the fluoride will go to waste, that it may cause ill effects and that the effect on the environment had not been fully considered.
Assistant secretary of the Port Curtis Hinterland Branch of the ALP, Craig Giddins, said he was opposed to fluoridation of the water supply.
“It is forced medication which we will have to pay for in our rates,” he said.
“In Gladstone we are already paying high rates and now Gladstone Regional Council will charge us even more because of the water fluoridation.”
He said if the government was convinced fluoridation was medically helpful, then it should subsidise fluoride tablets rather than force fluoridation on the whole Queensland community whether they wanted it or not.
And he said if there were those who really believed fluoride would help their teeth and those of their children's, then they would be able to take advantage of the government's subsidised offer of free fluoride tablets.
“Only a small amount of the water will be consumed and the rest will go to waste on gardens, in gutters from run-off from washed cars, the kitchen sink, the bathtub and the washing machine.”
The branch's vice-president, Clive Coleman, confirmed that the branch at its meeting tomorrow would consider a motion condemning fluoridation of Queensland water supplies.
If it is passed as is or in an amended form, the motion will be submitted at the conference on Sunday.
The fluoridation of the water supply was a state government directive and the GAWB was under legal obligation to follow the directive.

99% of the product does go into the environment on lawns or out with the processed sewage as it is very expensive to filter out fluoride ion once in the water.
In the US well over 90% of fluoridation chemical comes straight from smokestack pollution scrubbers the EPA ordered installed to lessen near total destruction of cattle ,citrus groves and crops from airborne fluorides. This toxic waste had more lawsuits and crop damage the all the other 20 combined from 1957-1968 sat government documents. The EPA as a favor to industry allowed with ZERO chronic safety or benefit testing to sell this toxic sludge for water fluoridation. Yes they claim thousands of tests but under oath to congress they did admit in 2000 not one test ever and none scheduled. This is AWWA b703-06 and the standard has a list of 20 contaminates in the product. This is hidden from the public as arsenic lead berylinum and radioactive decay products just do not sound safe to drink.

This h2SiF6 much more complex and never the same chemical twice but in the US only need be tested once a year from the supplier. Double distilled deionized water with very purified sodium fluoride was used in the studies that were done. It is called bait and switch.
This is fr more complex then told the public. For example if the fluoride is added at the well then the final product will contain often 10 times more aluminum. Very bad idea. Also hidden from the public is the extreme corrosion ability of H2SiF6 even at 1ppm. It is super excellent at leaching lead from brass, old solder and even lead free brass can have 8% lead in the US instead of the old 30%. Maas 2007 and Copland 2007 show why the 1996 Master and Coplan study on 250,000 kids showed 41% more lead in kids fluoridated with H2SiF6. Disinfectants like chloramine can make this 9 times more destructive as Washington DC discovered in 2000. For three years they hid illegally from the public lead levels hundreds and even thousands of times over the 15ppb Max allowed. Yes up to 48,000ppb lead in the water and they let the public drink it with EPA and CDC later involved in a cover up besides DC Utilities and DC health department.
Marc Edwards at Virginia Tech corrosion expert documented this so they did not pay him and tried to destroy his life for being honest. After getting a half million Macarthur genius in engineering award he used the money to prove children were lead toxic damaged in this government screw up. Read his published peer reviewed study and the DC Watch testimony to congress that was ignored.
Bottom line is ingested fluorides have no measurable benefit proven in last 20 years as no mechanism of benefit can be proven.. Claimed yes. Dental fluorosis is skyrocketing which is hidden by not reporting most current data. The biggest US study by NIDR on 39,207 kids showed 66.4% had evidence of dental fluoroisis in 1986-7. The public was not told. Now it is about 50 % with multiple teeth in the current CDC data and UK 2000 York Review with 48% but only 15% when not fluoridated. 10% was to be the halt fluoridation number in 1945 before the experment started. The first study showed 19% and 40% in blacks Russell 1962 Grand Rapids. Black are damaged double and the CDC still refused to inform in 2007 after ethics charges about hiding damage from the public. Trust government and dentists less and research yourself.

Marc Edwards corrosion expert documents damaged pipes from poor water quality mostly caused by fluoridation chemicals combined with disinfectants and poor Ph control and no added corrosion control chemicals like orthophosphate, tri and poly phosphate also but these are much more expensive then the fluoridation chemical. The additional personal and testing also cost more then the chemical. The damage to equipment means more replacements of pumps pipes, guages and valves and special rooms for the fluoridation and chemicals. Also risks to staff that could be life ending or at least health. You must suit up in a moon suit with big gloves and mask and splash shield. Marc edwards thought tens of BILLIONS of damage to homes from pipes damaged with water and mold destruction could easily happen.
Not know to many is fluoridated water boiled in aluminum pans as many homes and use leach 200ppm aluminum in 10 minutes and 600ppm in 30 minutes to far exceed WHO toxic levels. The public is never informed of this either. Buyer beware as the product has some issues you might not know.
Food products now have much more fluoride then decades ago from pesticides and just processing with fluoride water. Cooking leaves all the fluoride behind when the water leaves. Dental care especially for little kids is very toxic as most swallow toxic levels when young. Those that eat the tasty paste have far worse problems as the JADA just documented again with new study. The 2006 ADA and CDC policy of no fluoride water for infants has not been told to the public yet. Bad PR so it is sort of secret policy. Not a single health department in US will warn as keeping fluoridation policy is the goal not dental health. Even the CDc now admits benefit is not ingested but then can not prove any topical benefit at 1ppm either. 1000ppm toothpaste just might work enough to offset the proven damage to kids. Maybe not.

When the fertilitzer companies, and others, clean their smokestacks, they bag the waste fluoride chemical, ( Hydrofluorosilicic Acid), which contains lead, mercury, arsenic, etc. and sell it to communities to add to our water systems. The Government tries to convince us that it does not harm us if it is diluted enough. It is a hoax on the public. Follow the money!
Those promoting fluoridation simply refuse to read the current research showing it is ineffective and dangerous to health. Go to (www.fluoridealert.org) and read several scientific articles.
Read the letter from Dr. Hardy Limeback ( DDS, PhD Biochemistry) --- Head, Preventive Dentistry, University of Toronto entitled "Why I am now officially opposed to adding fluoride to drinking water"
He was the principal research advisor to the Canadian Dental Asociation for over 10 years in promoting fluoridation. His letter is an apology to other dentists and the public.
Over 140 Research studies listed, including:
Increased risk of bone cancer -- 13 studies
Lead, arsenic, radium contaminants causing toxic water -- 10 studies
Link with fluoride and other cancer -- 12
Fluoride causes birth defects -- 5
Fluoride affects the immune systems -- 12
Fluoride is neurotoxic (brain, nerves, lowering IQ) -- 11
Etc.
Also see the petition signed by over 2600 professionals opposing fluoridation.

Um Jim - how about you look after your own backyard? And maybe do some research with some reputable bodies like the World Health Organisation? I've been a dental professional for over 15 years and have seen firsthand the benefits of fluoridation. Stop scaremongering with this utter garbage!

Its important to know exactly what toxic chemical are the multi national s proposing to put in the water
What are they going to put in the water ??
Hydrofluorosilicic Acid is a compound completely different properties to fluoride
Just like oxygen is a gas it has different properties to water
Hydrogen is a gas it has different properties to water
well i thirsty now i will try drinking a glass of hydrogen to quench my thirst
