Now not time to invest: psychic

GLADSTONE'S number is up, according to Calliope-based clairvoyant Catherine Peters.

Using numerology, Catherine's outlook for the region over the next few years was not good.

“Using Gladstone's own name, which is an eight (in numerology) - which is a business number - and 2009, which itself is a two, it is not a good year,” she said.

Admittedly, the explanation that followed and the reasoning behind were rather difficult to follow, but the end result was clear.

“People have to be careful over the next 18 months. There will be problems with businesses around the place,” she said.

“This year is not the year to invest.”

Although economists and the latest headlines may have touched on similar themes, Catherine said the numbers tell her there are “still tougher times ahead”.

“The next two years are going to make a big difference. If we are not out of (the current economic situation) by 2010, or 2011, then we will not be out of it until 2014,” she said.

With all the doom and gloom in the predictions, when asked whether any positive was heading Gladstone's way, Catherine said it would come around August or September.

“There will be money invested coming into Gladstone around August or September,” she said.

“September has big changes. Large industries will come to town looking to invest money.”

Although sceptics may say tough economic times and industrial investments are common knowledge rather than a mystical insight, Catherine's predictions about Gladstone Regional Council Mayor George Creed are perhaps more intriguing.

“He is an individual in his own self,” she said.

“He has his own ideals that he likes to stick to, but sometimes it's very hard for him to do the things he needs to do.”

Once again, Catherine said money has created an issue.

“He will be held back by a money situation. There will be big money problems,” she said.

“But he has a strong personality and he is always working towards the betterment of the community, so things will work out.”

Catherine said the best way for people to overcome the gloomy predictions is to be smart.

“At the moment, we all have to work within our own budgets,” she said.

“Over the next two years, people can't be spending more than what they can afford. People can be their own worst enemies.

“Everyone has to be a bit more careful with finances.”

Numerology is the belief in a mystical relationship between numbers and physical object or living things. Each number has a different meaning.
