SEXY: The Teslar, the world's first electric sports car will be on show at Greenfest.

THIS week, the world's first electric sports car goes on display in Brisbane-and far from a souped up golf cart, this thing is sex on wheels.

The Tesla can go from 0 to 100km/h in just four seconds and can travel at a top speed of 200km/h. It can also hug the highway for more than 350km on a single charge.

Californian-made Tesla is not commercially available in Australia yet-in fact, the only Tesla roadster here belongs to SA-based internet entrepreneur, Simon Hackett, who shelled out around $200,000 to be the proud owner of a car he can't drive.

As a left hand drive, it's not legal for Simon to take his roadster on road, so he has to be content with racetracks and exhibitions-such as the fabulous Greenfest which is set to take off this coming weekend in Brisbane.

Greenfest will run from June 5-7 at Brisbane's City Botanic Gardens.

Far from being a stodgy talkfest of worthy scientists, this is all about celebrating the vibrancy of our planet with music, film, fashion and food.

Certainly, though, despite the fun atmosphere the message is clear-it's time to wake up and act now if we're going to have any hope of creating a sustainable earth for future generations.

A series of workshops covering subjects such as climate change, quality economies and sustainable cities will be running over the three days.

But there's also plenty of action in the Chillout Zone, Extreme Weather Heroes Stage and the Climate Smart Home Stage with musicians such as Kevin Borich, Neil Murray, Ash Grunwald, Sunshine Reggae Band, Jeff Lang and attractions like the Byron Bay Film Festival and Heart of Gold Film Festival among a diverse array over the three-day event.

And of course there's the Tesla, the main attraction at the event's Green Motor Show
