Celebrate World Environment Day tomorrow at the beautiful Tondoon Gardens. Well known movie Happy Feet will be screened from 7pm in the Gardens Arboretum. This animated family movie is rated G and will run for 108 minutes. The movie features the voices of Elijah Wood, Brittany Murphy, Robin Williams, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. Entry is free, so bring along a blanket, picnic and enjoy a great night out. Environmental fogging will take place prior to the movie.

Basketball: The Port City Power continues their QBL campaign at the Powerhouse (Kev Broome Stadium) on Sunday against Brisbane-based team, Northside Wizards. The women tip off at 12.15pm and the men follow at 2pm. Entry to the event is $10 and a bar and canteen will be operating.
Football: If you're a keen A-League fan, then there are two opportunities to see the nation's top level competition first hand in your own backyard. Capricorn Cougars take on new A-League side North Queensland Fury tonight at Jardine Park in Rockhampton. The ground will also play host to the Fury and Central Queensland Mariners on Sunday night. Tennis: The Gladstone Open Hardcourt Championships start today and continue until Monday. There is $16,000 of prize money and vouchers on offer.
Head out to Cedar Galleries tomorrow to experience the renowned Rock Star Boot Camp event, featuring headlining act Whyte Zebra. With an average of 10 acts each boot camp, each varying in genre from blues to jazz to alternate and rock, visitors can be assured a great night of music entertainment. Cover charge for the event is $12 per adult and $5 for kids under 12, which includes free dinner. Boot camp kicks off at 3pm and finishes around 8.30pm.
There will be something fishy going on at the Boyne Island community centre at the weekend - literally. Quilts, sculptures, silk scarves and 3D art with a nautical theme will be displayed in the Heron Room with the title “something fishing”. The exhibition will be on display from today until Thursday June 11 from 10am to 4pm daily. A gold coin donation to the Gladstone Regional Council will be requested.
Kimmy Anderson will be performing at the Young Australian Hotel on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Gladstone Municipal Band is heading to Maryborough this weekend to compete in the Queensland State Brass Championships with players competing in the street march, hymn, concert, open choice and solo sections.
Gladstone Maritime Museum is open on Sunday from 10am to 4pm, to give residents the opportunity to view maritime displays. Take the Port Access Road, and follow the signs.
Looking Back, Looking Forward - a display presenting 155 years on change in the region - is on display at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum (GRAGM) tomorrow. GRAGM is open from 10am to 5pm.
It may not be on at the weekend, but comedian Akmal's performance at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre on Thursday night will give you something to look forward to. He has been performing stand-up comedy since the early 1990s and his live shows have toured comedy festivals both within Australia and internationally. Akmal continually displays an incredible ability to deal with hot topics in a non-offensive way, as he touches on issues such as religion, terrorism and hysterical looks at modern day life in Australia.
