Murder accused held in custody

THE woman accused of murdering Biloela man Graham Peter Moore on Wednesday morning has been remanded in custody.

Merridee Virginia Reynolds, 32, appeared briefly in Gladstone Magistrates Court yesterday after police arrested and charged her with the 35-year-old man's murder.

Mr Moore, an award-winning artist and father-of-one, died in his caravan at the White Cockatoo Accommodation Park from a single wound.

Neighbours woke to screams and found Mr Moore's blood-covered body just before 3am and called emergency services.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Duty lawyer Brian Begg appeared for Reynolds and said she had been granted legal aid, to be administered through Brisbane.

Mr Begg asked for a six-week adjournment; however police prosecutor Senior Constable Brad Reynolds asked the court for eight weeks.

Pale and clad in what appeared to be pyjama bottoms, Reynolds bowed to Mr Carroll before returning to police custody.

She will reappear on May 29 for a committal mention.
