A YOUNG woman wielding a knife, who chased her boyfriend and another man just to scare them, appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Haily Jane Walker Finn pleaded guilty to one count of going armed to cause fear and one other charge stemming from an incident at Calliope on April 11.
About 10pm police were called to the Dawson Hwy in relation to a woman possibly having been hit by a car.
Police prosecutor Mick O'Rourke said officers identified Finn as the woman lying on the ground, and also saw a knife similar to a steak knife lying on the ground next to her.
The two men, one of them her partner, told police Finn had come charging at them with the knife.
One of the men had struck Finn on the back with a golf club to stop a potential attack, before throwing the knife away into the bush.
Finn told police she had hoped to scare the men by her actions.
Defence solicitor Cassandra Ditchfieldsaid her client suffered from anxiety and depression.
Magistrate Russell Warfield sentenced Finn to a 12-month probation order.
