SHAUN Maloney breathed life into the English Premier League title race after his stunning goal helped struggling Wigan beat Manchester United 1-0.

>> Latest sport news

Just days after United looked to have assured themselves a 20th league crown by opening up an eight-point lead over arch rivals Manchester City, Maloney's winner suggested the title race may yet have more twists in store especially after City romped to a 4-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

Sergio Aguero (two), Carlos Tevez and David Silva were on target in City's emphatic win which reduced United's lead at the top to five points with five games remaining.

Queens Park Rangers won 3-0 at home to Swansea City while third-placed Arsenal won by the same margin at bottom-of-the-ladder Wolves.
