Volunteer team keeps festival on course during big week

GLADSTONE'S harbour festival would be nothing were it not for the host of volunteers who keep the show running.

Sure, during the year good people from Gladstone Festivals and Events arrange everything in preparation for the big occasion, but when it comes to people on the ground during the big week, it's our volunteers who shine.

They're the folk who do all of the chores to keep the festival on an even keel: folk like regular night-time MC Rob Kidd, who makes sure the entertainment runs smoothly - just because he wants to do something for our community.

And take the volunteers from our SES groups who manage the parking of the hundreds of vehicles that descend upon the Gladstone Marina.

Without such people our community would not be sustainable.

There is a massive variety of entertainment on offer this year at the festival.

Make sure you get to the marina and enjoy every minute.

But when you do, remember there are people out there who are making sure you have a good time.
