Truck rollover on Port Curtis Way
UPDATE: A QPS spokesperson said the cleanup from a truck rollover on Port Curtis Way was completed at approximately 10.30pm last night.
UPDATE: A FUEL spill caused by a truck rollover has blocked Port Curtis Way and police believe it will not be reopened until 4am.
A police spokesperson said emergency services were working to clean the spill and get the truck up but the effort could take another eight hours.
1.30pm: POLICE are urging motorists to avoid Port Curtis Way after a fuel truck rolled.
Information at this stages indicates that there was a single truck rollover around 1pm involving a semi-trailer carrying fuel near Yarwun 2 on Port Curtis Way.
No one was injured as a result of the crash however it is believed fuel is leaking from the tank and police are urging motorists to keep away from the area.
Lengthy traffic delays are expected and motorists can take the following alternate travel routes:
Motorists heading into Gladstone from the north can go via Calliope River Road to the Bruce Highway then via the Dawson Highway.
Motorists travelling north out of Gladstone can go via Red River Road to the Dawson Highway then the Bruce Highway.
