Teen killed in Benaraby accident
UPDATE: Gladstone police have confirmed the identity of the 19-year-old woman killed in a car accident yesterday afternoon at Benaraby as Horotia Merika Heikura Brennan.
The woman is believed to be a Gladstone local.
Police confirmed that next of kin had been notified and the body has been identified.
MONDAY 6PM: A 19-year-old woman has been killed in an crash on the Bruce Highway.
Police investigations indicate about 5.15pm yesterday afternoon, the woman, who was the sole occupant of a sedan, died after her vehicle collided head-on with a prime mover North of Benaraby.
A man was transported to Gladstone Hospital with leg injuries.
The Bruce Highway was closed and diversions put in place through Gladstone from Calliope from the North and through Gladstone from Benaraby from the South.
The road was cleared at 10pm and re-opened to traffic.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
