Tough day for police dog, Ox
POLICE dog Ox is back on duty after a tough day in the office on Friday.
About 11pm police and Ox were called to a Bell Street property after reports of a man causing damage to a dwelling.
When they arrived Ox followed a track to a nearby creek where he found the 28-year-old Gladstone man.
The man then allegedly punched Ox several times. Ox received a muscle injury to one of his legs, although a police spokesperson said he had seen a vet and was recovering well.
While being transported to the watchhouse, the man allegedly spat at police.
He has been charged with four counts of serious assault of police, as well as a number of other charges for unrelated incidents.
