IT'S the busiest road in terms of commuters in the Gladstone region, but readers have suggested the Benaraby-Gladstone Rd is one of the worst roads in the area.
From an online question, posted on The Observer's Facebook page on the weekend, many readers say there are a number of terrible roads in the region.
With responses such as, "the ones called gladstone roads, so everywhere lol" perhaps the question should have read "which is the best road in the region" not the 'worst'.
The question was also flipped on it's head by commenter Sandra Hill.
She posted: "None, if you drive to the conditions."
Gladstone-Benaraby Rd was the most common answer, despite upgrades and speed reductions in recent years.
Last year changes to the speed along Gladstone-Benaraby Rd were approved by the regional Speed Management Committee, which includes representatives from QPS, engineering and road safety officers from Transport and Main Roads (TMR) and Gladstone Regional Council.
Between the Boyne Island roundabout to the Kirkwood Rd traffic lights, the speed reduced from 100kmh to 90kmh.
The speed between the Kirkwood Rd traffic lights and Dalrymple Dr was reduced from 90kmhr to 80kmhr.
