Single vehicle roll-over
[BREAKING NEWS] - GLADSTONE emergency services crews were called to a single-vehicle roll-over on Benaraby Road this evening.
The accident happened on a recently resurfaced part of the Gladstone-Benaraby Road, just north of the Boyne-Tannum roundabout around 5.30pm.
The car is believed to have been travelling south.
Several cars were pulled over to the side of the road following this incident and traffic in the vicinity slowed as witnesses and passers-by directed traffic before emergency services arrived.
Gladstone police, ambulance and fire and rescue crews attended the scene.
An occupant of the vehicle was believed to have been transported to Gladstone Hospital as a precaution. The extent of that person's injuries was not know.
The accident follows a spate of near misses in the area around recent roadworks and has raised questions among motorists about the adequacy of signage - especially given the volume of traffic using the road and the lack of road markings and lines following the works.
The Observer's Bec Davis will have more news on the accident and the roadworks online tomorrow and in Monday's print edition of The Gladstone Observer.
