THE smooth and caressing voice of Simon Gallaher was received with rapturous applause at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre on Tuesday as part of Seniors' Week.

The joyous 900-strong crowd members were dancing in their seats, thoroughly entertained by the famous theatrical performer, singer, producer and pianist.

"We are having the most wonderful time today, the music is just beautiful," said audience member Joan Green.

"It's nice to get out among people and just enjoy the music."

The Port Curtis Respite Centre, Bindaree Lodge and Biloela Probus Club were just a selection of aged care facilities that jumped at the chance to be swooned by the Australian entertainer.

"He is just delightful, isn't he?" Cecile Johnston quizzed.

"It is amazing the effect music can have. I was a little cold before but I'm warm right through after listening to him."

Seniors' Week activities will continue for the duration of the week.
