A DELEGATION of agricultural representatives from Saudi Arabia has visited Bundaberg to see how it is done in Queensland's salad bowl.

Bundaberg Fruit and Vegetable Growers hosted the delegation of 10 at Perfection Fresh's innovative new Blueberry plantation on Bonna Rd yesterday.

The chairman of Saudi firm Alyaseen Agri, Madhi Al-Ramadan, said the visitors were blown away by the magnitude of Bundy's agricultural industry.

"We have seen that farmers here are really entrepreneurs more than farmers," he said.

"They take risks and they innovate and they are very aware of the requirements of their businesses."

The delegation's visit to Bundaberg followed a trip through Spain and The Netherlands.

Mr Al-Ramadan said the delegation was shocked to learn of the high cost of labour in Australia.
