AS CHRISTMAS mysteries go, this one's a cracker.

And Curtis Coast Apex 40 Club in Tannum Sands is looking for a lead that's hotter than a roast turkey.

A complete Santa suit, including a beard, has gone missing from the Apex shed in Pleasant Ave, Tannum Sands.

It's a favourite haunt for Santa, who The Observer spotted down there - without his suit - on Thursday.

It's not his first visit to the area this silly season - he's already been spotted at the Boyne Tannum Lions Annual Carols by Candlelight and Beach. Arts. Music.

And while locals were probably too polite to mention it, he was forced to wear his second-best suit.

If someone may have borrowed the outfit, or know of its location, Santa hopes they can contact Bruce on 4973 7463, or Brian 4973 7997.
