MORE than $12,000 was committed from tourism operators in the region for the Southern Great Barrier Reef "Where Great Begins" campaign.
A year on and the second phase is about to continue, with nearly $24,000 in commitments.
The campaign was developed in partnership between Tourism and Events Queensland, Gladstone Area Promotion and Development Limited, Capricorn Enterprise, and Bundaberg North Burnett Tourism.
GAPDL chief Glenn Churchill said this was the exciting second year of the Southern Great Barrier Reef domestic marketing campaign, which is valued at over $500,000.
Marketing activity will start in May and include advertising on TV, press, radio and online, as well as a Blogger Challenge.
