TO commemorate the century anniversary since the sinking of the Titanic, about 965km (600 miles) south-east of Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic will broadcast the Titanic's original wireless transmissions in real time on Twitter.

The Titanic was equipped with the latest in modern wireless technology at the time, technology that proved invaluable in saving many passengers lives.

Experience the magnitude of the Titanic disaster through the same wireless messages operators received in 1912. The hash tag for the account on Twitter is #TitanicMMA and communications will be tweeted from 11.55pm Newfoundland Standard Time on April 14 which is 1.25pm Brisbane time on April 15 to mimic the time of communications 100 years ago from the moment of iceberg collision to the tragic sinking.

Before the start of the real time account, eight iceberg warnings that preceded the sinking in 1912 will be posted on Twitter. Visit the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic's website at http://museum.gov.ns.ca.
