SIBLINGS Kalli and Tolli Chamos agree about one thing - their dad is the best in the world.

The children recently joined their parents, Nickolas Chamos and Marina Karamatsou, on a special Father's Day shopping trip to buy Mr Chamos a boat.

Nine-year-old Kalli said her dad was "everything good in the world".

"He's the best dad ever. He plays with me, he loves me, he cares about me and he's so much fun," she said.

Seven-year-old Tolli said his dad taught him a lot.

"He tickles us and he lifts us up ... really high and spins us around," he said.

"Dad teaches me all different stuff that I don't know, like how to throw a fishing net, and all that stuff I like.

"And if I get hurt on the boat, dad takes care of me."

Mr Chamos said he wanted his children to take what they needed from him but he wasn't trying to create "carbon copies" of himself, he said.

Dredging begins in Gladstone's port

Dredging the 2.3km Narrows crossing of the QCLNG and APLNG gas pipelines. The dredging involves a small backhoe dredge mounted on a barge, two tug boats, a survey vessel. After the pipelines are laid in the same trench, they will be covered with rock for protection from shipping and will still allow sufficient depth for boat traffic through The Narrows. BUOYS removed to make room for dredging operations.
