CONSTRUCTION of a new Trade and Technical College at Gladstone State High School is drawing closer.
Tender documentation for project management and architecture work on the building is being prepared by the Department of Education, Training and Employment.
The new Trade and Technical College will add logistics, transport, electrotechnology and telecommunic- ations cabling study areas to existing vocational training opportunities for students.
The school already hosts a technical college which offers structured work placement programs delivered by EQIP Gladstone.
Areas of study currently offered include civil construction, business and information technology skills, engineering skills and workforce readiness for indigenous students.
Acting principal Mark Law said the college is likely to be completed by November 2015, ready for the 2016 school year.
