DAN Wallace's job is all about rubbish.
Mr Wallace has started a bin cleaning business. It's called Bins Done, and he says he's never been happier.
For the last 12 years he has worked in industry, and most recently he had a fly-in fly-out job at Gove.
He realised that the FIFO life wasn't for him anymore and wanted to be closer to his family.
And after he welcomed his second granddaughter, it was the perfect time for a career change.
"The industry has been great to me. I've lived in Gladstone for 12 years and worked at QAL, Yarwun and some other sites," he said.
It's the first time Mr Wallace has worked for himself and so far he's enjoying it.
Luckily he has issues with his sinus, and cannot smell the stench that wreaks from the bins he cleans.
"Something tweaked in my head, I'm not sure if it was turning 50, but I just wanted to do something different and be happy," he said.
"If you can wake up in the morning and be happy with what do every day, then you've got a pretty great life," he said.
Mr Wallace has a hydro-blasting machine that bins can be mounted on.
The water is recycled and he disposes of his water once a month.
