Man dies in Dawson Hwy crash
UPDATE 11.20am: The driver of the car involved in a fatal collision this morning has been taken to Gladstone Hospital to be treated for shock.
He and another male passenger, both in their twenties, were turning into the driveway of a Calliope property around 9am this morning when they collided with a motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist was illegally overtaking a number of cars at the time.
The 40-year-old from Moura was still conscious when emergency services arrived at the scene.
Sergeant Michael Despot and members of the Queensland Ambulance Service performed CPR, however the man died at the scene.
Diversions are in place on the highway but motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

A 40-year-old Moura man died in the crash involving a motorcycle and a car 2km past Calliope at around 9am.

9.15am: A motorcycle and car have crashed on the Dawson Hwy west of Calliope. The motorcyclist is understood to have suffered serious injuries.
