QUICK reflexes saved Jacob Keogh and his mother from serious injury in a car accident on Sunday.

The two were in Jacob's Ford Falcon waiting to turn right into their driveway on the Gladstone Benaraby Rd when he saw the car behind them not slowing down.

Jacob said he flashed his brake lights to alert the driver, but knew it was going to end badly when the driver didn't slow down.

"Lucky for my quick reactions to accelerate and get a bit of momentum forwards or it would have been a lot worse," he said.

"When the car slammed into us, I knocked my head. I was lucky I didn't lose consciousness because he pushed us across into oncoming traffic."

He said he knew someone would eventually have an accident trying to get into their driveway.

"It was bound to happen, I just didn't want it to happen to me," he said.

"Something has to be done about that driveway entrance. It doesn't matter which way you're coming from people are going too quickly and are right up your rear.

"If another driver is not paying attention this happens." Jacob and his mother were recovering from bruising and whiplash, and expected to make a full recovery.
