Man fined after throwing faeces at cell security camera
A GLADSTONE man who threw his faeces at a padded cell security camera after trying to use the watchhouse as a bathroom has been fined $1500.
One too many drinks at the Reef Hotel landed Graeme Peter Warde in Gladstone Magistrates court last week.
About 2am on December 9, 2012, Warde was escorted out of the Reef Hotel for being intoxicated.
He began to get aggressive and swing punches.
He had to be physically restrained after he headbutted one of the guards.
The 33-year-old was arrested by police for causing a public nuisance a short while later.
When he woke up in the watchhouse the next morning he wasn't happy.
After swearing at police he squatted in his cell and yelled "I need to take a sh*t".
Police moved him to a cell with a toilet.
That didn't stop him urinating and defecating on the cell floor.
Laughing, he spat at the camera before throwing his faeces.
He faced one charge of public nuisance, one for assaulting or obstructing a police officer and one for wilful damage in court on Tuesday.
Warde was fined $1500 for all three charges and is banned from the Reef Hotel for the next six months.
