Man accused of raping 14 year old
A MAN accused of raping a 14-year-old girl has pleaded not guilty in Gladstone District Court this morning.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is alleged to have raped the girl twice on the morning of September 8, 2010 in Yarwun.
This morning the Crown Prosecutor Jessica Goldie made her opening statement to the jury.
"You will hear (the girl) woke up to find her pants undone and pulled down," she said. "(The man) had his finger inside her vagina."
Ms Goldie said the girl was so shocked she initially pretended to be asleep.
"Then he put her penis inside her," she said.
A pre-recorded interview of the girl's evidence will be played to the court this afternoon.
