Make most of what is on offer
WELL that trough eventually swept across the region after three days of cold and rain, but didn't oblige with the low that formed.
We did get waves earlier in the week, but the low formed a bit to the south of us and once again the Sunny Coast and then the Goldie got the most of it.
Oh well, there were a few good sessions during the week, but it is genuinely cold now with the water temperature down and the air temperature a bit less at times.
There were still a few small sliders yesterday, but it doesn't look too promising for the weekend.
Dig out your longest, biggest volume board - and plenty of rubber - and head for the protected spots, as the wind is coming up again too.
The sun did come out yesterday however, and the beach was packed at Agnes Water with holidaymakers after a miserable start to the school holidays.
Reef2Beach surf shop owner and surf school operator Wayne 'Grom' Mellick said it was good for the visitors to at last get a bit of sunshine and businesses in Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy were doing well.
"It's great for the people on holidays to get a bit of sun and nice weather," he said.
"There have been a few waves and we should get something again next week."
OCCY'S Grom Comp is on the Gold Coast this weekend and they are in for some solid waves.
Occy, Mark Occhilupo is now a favourite son of Agnes Water with some of his family living on The Discovery Coast, and he reckons he will be a regular visitor.
His boys and wife Mae were all in the surf with him at the point recently.
