GLADSTONE'S airport received another boost yesterday as the new Qantas Lounge was officially opened.

This follows the recent introduction of the company's jet service for the city, with the introduction of a Boeing 717 service to Brisbane.

The Qantas Lounge provides travellers with refreshments before take-off, and provides other facilities such as meeting areas.

The opening was attended by many of the city's dignitaries including representatives of the Gladstone Regional Council, state and federal politics, GAPDL, major industry players and media, as well as key corporate players.
