Kids have blast at SUNfest with clay target shooting
AS PART of SUNfest 2013, the Gladstone Clay Target Shooting Club held a day for kids from around the region to try their hand at the sport.
Led by the Target Club's president Shane Fett and several club volunteers, the children had the opportunity to take aim at 10 individual clay targets and have their scores tallied up.
Twelve-year-old Nathan Cornielje, who had never fired a gun before, said that the experience was nothing like in computer games. "This was my first time and it was very fun actually," said Nathan.
"They taught me how to hold a gun properly and I thought the recoil would be far worse than what it really was."
