Golfers donate cash
WHEN it comes to health, every cent counts.
So the Gladstone Hospital Auxiliary was rapt to receive a handy cheque for $6000 on Tuesday.
The money was raised by the Motor Traders Charity Golf Day, organised by Gladstone Midday Rotary.
Gladstone Midday Rotary president Jeff Osborne said the charity golf day traditionally made its biggest donation to the hospital auxiliary.
He said the result this year had been better than usual.
"We usually raise about $4000, but this year we got the $6000," he said.
The event has become a popular day on the region's corporate calendar.
It all began 35 years ago and it is still going strong.
It was originally organised by the Motor Traders but is now organised by Gladstone Midday Rotary, still with the support and sponsorship of the Motor Traders.
The Motor Traders Charity Golf Day, held in May, was a resounding success.
It attracted people and businesses from across town to have a fun day on the golf course and raise funds for a number of different charities in the Gladstone region.
