GLADSTONE'S favourite boxer Billy Ward appeared in Gladstone Magistrate Court on Tuesday.

He has been charged with one count of public nuisance and one of assaulting or obstructing a police officer.

His case was adjourned until January 8.

Ward represented Australia at this year's Olympics as a member of the Australian men's boxing team.

He was defeated on debut by Cuban fighter Yosbany Veitia Soto.
