Gas leak causes evacuation of Gladstone CBD

A GAS leak has resulted in part of Gladstone's CBD being closed.

The leak, reported at 5.25pm, is in the area around the intersection of William and Goondoon streets.

Police believe the source may be a business across the intersection from the Queens Hotel.

People immediately in the vicinity have been asked to turn off their mobile phones.

Goondoon, William and Bramston streets and Oaka Lane have been closed off to all but emergency services personnel.
