Kids get crafty during wet break
THE weather came out to play for happy children and relieved parents during school holidays in Agnes Water.
Yesterday it was all action at the Skate Park and on the beach, but the fun has been raging all holidays with the Gladstone Regional Council organising activities for the kids.
There has been kayaking and surfing for the water sports enthusiasts and the weekend is going to be big with some professional and expert skaters, BMXers and scooter riders descending on the Agnes Water Skate Park on Springs Rd.
When the weather was a bit chilly or rainy there were indoor activities to keep the busy hands and minds occupied. Week one saw moon sand and seashell photo frame activities at the Agnes Water Library as part of the school holiday craft program and this week it was marshmallow snowmen, shoe boxes and tiny teddy totem poles.
Yesterday the Ward family and their Gracemere friends the Forwards headed to the Skate Park. While the kids Logan and Tembi (Ward) and Emily and Brodie (Forward) scooted, mums Dimmity Ward and Julianne Forward took the opportunity for a bit of boxercise in the warm winter sun.
"It's just beautiful here, with the bush and beach. We will have to move here too," Julianne said.
"We've been friends since school and (our) kids get along really well too."
Dimmity said she loved their new acreage home and would definitely be bringing the kids down to the Skate Park for more holiday fun on the weekend.
