Finding family roots
ASTRID Allison has been busy tracking down her family history for 25 years.
"I just started one day and kept on going, connecting people is a lot of fun," Mrs Allison said.
"It can be very addictive."
So far she has tracked down more than 500 people in her family tree.
"It can get quite daunting and confusing," she said.
The Allison family's roots in Gladstone date back to 1890.
"There is a lot of history here in Gladstone," she said.
The breakthrough for Mrs Allison and her family tree came when she discovered Facebook.
"I have been able to connect with so many family members through Facebook," she said.
She is a frequent poster to the Gladstone: Remember When page.
"I do photography and like to share all my photos on that page," she said.
"Many oldies have joined Facebook because of this page."
