THERE was one point when Stacey Joy Jones' family wasn't sure if she would make it to her first birthday.

At just seven weeks old problems with her reproductive organs resulted in a hernia in the little girl's groin.

Stacey was flown to the Royal Children's Hospital for an operation.

"It was quite scary," her mum Tracey said.

"Very traumatic."

So it was an extra special day on July 20, when Stacey's family celebrated her first birthday.

"It was lovely," Tracey said.

Stacey's first birthday was celebrated at home with friends and family.

She was spoilt with lots of presents and to mark the occasion she got her ears pierced.

"She didn't even cry," Tracey said.

"I think she's a bit of a special baby.

"She gives us lots of smiles and loves to dance.

"She is a very loved and spoilt child."
