Cultural showcase
WELCOMING Intercultural Neighbours Inc is holding the ultimate Latin/Caribbean experience, called Tropical Night, on May 5 at the Gladstone PCYC.
Together with the South American and Caribbean communities WIN is committed to helping ethnic communities share their culture, music and costumes with everyone in Gladstone.
At Tropical Night there will be South American food, Latin and Caribbean music as well as dance floor shows where people will be able to follow the music, learn a thing or two about Latin dancing or just sit, relax and enjoy the celebrations.
Program co-ordinator Natalia Muszkat said WIN organised this event as part of a range of integration strategies, which sought to encourage community cohesion and full participation of new Australians in the region's life-style.
"The night is full of music, fun and happy people," she said.
Tickets cost $35 and can be purchased from tropi calnight.eventbrite.com or by phoning 0487 422 142.
The Observer is giving readers the chance to win one of three double passes to Tropical Night.
