Crisafulli in Gladstone for meeting
LOCAL government minister David Crisafulli will meet with Gladstone Regional Council this morning as part of a regional Queensland tour.
A spokesperson for the minister said Mr Crisafulli aimed to meet with all 72 Queensland councils to meet the councilors personally and receive local feedback.
"He wants to get to know each council, find out more about their current financial situation and what their challenges may be," he said.
"At the moment we've visited around 20 regional councils but the aim is to meet all 72, so we've still a way to go."
The spokesperson said Mr Crisafulli is interested in returning some power back to councils.
Yesterday he met with the Emerald local council before heading to Woorabinda and Biloela.
After the council meeting in Gladstone, Mr Crisafulli will drive to meet with the Rockhampton Regional Council before heading back to Townsville for the weekend.
