Man arrested, fined after becoming aggressive to police

TOO much to drink on an empty stomach has cost a Gladstone man $500.

Geoffrey Robert Murphy was kicked out of the Reef Hotel at 11.30pm on January 26.

When nearby police asked to see his ID, he refused.

The 25-year-old became aggressive towards police, who gave him a move on direction.

He told them he didn't agree, so he was arrested.

The police handcuffed Murphy as he struggled to break free.

As they put him in the back of the police car, he told police to "get f**ked".

He appeared in Gladstone Magistrates court on Tuesday and was fined $500 with a conviction recorded.
