Chase thrills fisher
LAST year Jon Heyden tried to win a prize for catching the biggest Spanish mackerel at the HookUp fishing competition.
As a result of his efforts, he won a prize for the biggest coral trout.
Confused? Don't be.
It's all part of the magic of the Observer Boyne Tannum HookUp.
Mr Heyden was chasing mackerel last year and caught the biggest mackerel on the first day.
Unfortunately somebody caught a bigger one on day two.
But when Mr Heyden and his friends were boating home after chasing mackerel on the second day, they decided to stop and have some fun catching coral trout.
Not only did he catch one, it turned out to be the biggest in the category.
Mr Heyden went home a winner after all.
This year he will be chasing the mackerel again.
Like other competitors, he finds the size of the species and the skill in catching them, makes them the most thrilling fish to chase at HookUp. He said he would love to win the category.
