Business hassles examined
GLADSTONE Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host the forum Focus on Business 2012 on April 14.
The purpose of the forum is to assist small-to-medium enterprises with issues arising from the impacts of rapid growth in the region.
"Small and medium enterprises need to work together to build a more self-reliant business community that's dynamic and proactive," chamber president Rick Hansen said.
The forum will provide an opening for businesses to collectively look at solving their issues, capitalise on opportunities and develop workable solutions. "It is imperative that we start collaborating if our local businesses are going to keep up to the demand and make the most of the economic advantages presenting themselves to us," Mr Hansen said.
Focus on Business will present best practice examples that local businesses are trying to overcome issues including: difficulty in recruiting skilled workers, training and nurturing staff, and growing the business while dealing with constraints.
Mr Hansen said the chamber was prepared to take up the forum's actions and advocate for the necessary support businesses needed to remain strong and stable. "I'm proud of the way our members are rallying around and of how excited our committee is to be playing a role in helping to improve our business community," he said.
The chamber has sponsorship chances available for business and industry to support Focus on Business 2012. For more details contact Julie Robinson on 4972 2446 or mail@gcci.com.au or Lyndal Hansen on 4978 1389 or lyndal@amarna.com.au.
