WATCH: Boyne Island mum returns home to find stabbing scene

UPDATE 9.20pm:

THE Gladstone Police have a 23-year-old man in custody in relation to the stabbing of another man at Boyne Island late Sunday afternoon.

The 23-year-old was found near the Caltex Service Station around 7pm; police had to use a taser to restrain him.

Earlier, around 6.30pm, police received several calls about a street fight involving a group of people; they later heard one man was armed with a knife. 

The victim, the man who was stabbed, is now in the Gladstone Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A mother of two was having dinner at her parents home in Boyne Island when she read the news that there had been a stabbing in her street.

Joanna Lockyer returned to her Richmond St home at 7.30pm to find police officers and an ambulance. 

The woman, who has lived in the house with her husband, two children, and dog for four years said she was shocked.

UPDATE 8:10pm:

PARAMEDICS were at the scene of a stabbing at Boyne Island before the call for help was over. 

An ambulance spokesman said paramedics were in the Boyne Island area when they received a call at 6.34pm notifying them that a man had been stabbed.

"There happened to be a unit in the area so they were on the scene before the end of the call," the spokesman said.

The stabbing victim has now been transported to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition with wounds to his arm. 


It's understood that the offender fled the scene to the Boyne Island Caltex where he threatened other people. 

The Criminal Investigation Branch has now arrived at the scene. 


EARLIER:

A MAN armed with a knife has stabbed someone on the corner of Richmond Court and Alexandra St at Boyne Island.

It's understood the offender then fled the scene and entered the Caltex where it's believed he threatened people. 


A police car and an ambulance are at the intersection of Richmond and Alexandra St on Boyne Island.   Two more police vehicles are at the Caltex and police are inside the Caltex.   

Police have now put up police tape around Richmond Court and Alexandra St at Boyne Island. 

It's believed the man has fled.
