THE Blues slumped to their ninth loss of the season, falling 35-19 to the Hurricanes in Wellington.

The Hurricanes crossed for five tries to secure a much-needed bonus point, while Benson Stanley provided the Blues with their lone five-pointer.

The victory snapped a two-match losing run for the Hurricanes, who maintain some hope of gaining a wildcard berth into the play-offs.

The despair and anguish on Ma'a Nonu's face after Andre Taylor's try in the 33rd minute typified the Blues' terrible season

Nonu had missed the tackle on TJ Perenara inside the Hurricanes' 22, which led to him standing behind his own goal line 12 seconds later watching Beauden Barrett attempt to convert Taylor's eighth try of the season.
